According to the World Health Organization, "the arsenic water crisis is the largest mass poisoning of a population in history."
PurifAid is a social enterprise geared towards installing efficient, durable water decontamination systems to eliminate the toxins poisoning well water in rural Bangladesh. This technology has the potential to radically improve lives in Bangladeshi villages.
Drinking wells in Bangladesh are the main source of water for 90% of Bangladesh’s population. Tragically the rock and soil are naturally laden with arsenic – which contaminates the water supply. Arsenic water poisoning affects countries across the world but the problem is particularly severe in Bangladesh where over 75 million people are affected.
